Leda route class recommendations: Level for growths, then switch for battleMinor spoilers

Train Leda in magic early, and send physical units toward the Strength or Speed they lack. Get useful masteries without staying in the same class for every level.

Train Magic before switching Leda to Dancer

This approach covers Part 1 through advanced classes. Mount development on Cai's route is a separate topic. Outside Cai's route, I value infantry class growths more and would not keep leveling in mounted classes simply to stay mounted.

Leda has high Speed and Dexterity, with 35 growth in both Strength and Magic. You can improve either side, but I recommend Diviner and Shaman early. Beginner and intermediate magic classes build Magic, Speed, and Dexterity together. Later, switch to Dancer. On player phase, she mainly uses Dance and plays music, so she does not necessarily need her spell list for damage. Give her Levin Sword to put that trained Magic into counterattacks.

Mage paths and fixing physical weaknesses

Train Olympia and Fianna as conventional mages; I favor black magic. If you want double white-magic uses for one map, switch classes before deployment. You do not need to level in that class throughout just for that map's needs.

Start Mu and Guzran in Gladiator and Brigand. At advanced tier, follow their actual growth: choose Warrior if they lack Strength or Ranger if they lack Speed and Dexterity. The masteries from Myrmidon and Shido are worth getting, but a useful mastery would not make me spend all their later levels in Shido.

Fast frontliners and a fast mage

Catania, Ludia, and Loretta all have outstanding Speed but need more damage. They can develop into physical dodge tanks.

Their bonus conditions differ. Catania's personal skill adds Hit when she leads in Attack Speed; later abilities add attack and Avoid. Ludia gains Attack Speed when initiating and later gains Avoid when she can follow up. Loretta instead checks half-HP and full-HP conditions.

Catania can also go straight into magic. She has offensive spells, long-range healing, and Warp. Combining high Speed with that spell list creates an unusually fast mage.

Start Sirocco in magic classes

Sirocco has 40 growth in both Strength and Magic, so a hybrid build is possible. However, early and midgame classes do not comfortably train both at once. His spell list is already good, so I recommend focusing on magic and making use of tools such as Fortify and Warp.

If you insist on a hybrid build, Blacksmith can bridge toward Savant later. But you may need to alternate physical and magic training early, and Blacksmith cannot use Levin Sword. That growth-focused transition comes at a cost to his immediate combat performance.

Improving single-hit damage and armored mobility

Simon and Inyoni have good Strength but lack Speed and Dexterity. Even after forcing up Speed, they still cannot follow up against many enemies. I recommend Brigand into Sniper, strengthening single attacks to pick off fragile enemies and fliers. Inyoni's Strength bonus while using bows fits that direction too.

Buccar and Jasmine have high Strength and Defense but low Speed, suiting armor. Armored Move helps limited movement, but only some characters learn it. Check personal learnable abilities before choosing the route; both of these characters qualify.
