Dietrich route recommendations: Build Strength first, and do not overlook Goliath's tanking and protectionMinor spoilers

Build damage on Dietrich, Esmeralda, and Kiroc, while Goliath absorbs attacks and protects allies. Train proficiencies ahead of later class requirements.

Dietrich building Strength before criticals and Goliath building Defense before Sentinel are my two strongest core recommendations. Train others around missing Speed, missing Strength, or late recruitment instead of advancing everyone straight through their initial class line.

Build Dietrich’s Strength for critical damage

Dietrich has high Dexterity and Luck, making substantial Critical rates easy to build later. I recommend Gladiator, Brigand, and Warrior to raise Strength, then Swordmaster in the Promised One's story, ultimately qualifying for The Blade.

Compared with staying in fast sword classes, this gives up some Speed for more Strength. Watch current weapon access: Brigand cannot use lances, so use swords during that stage rather than equipping a later weapon from the build table early.

Aim for Sword S, Infantry A, and Authority B in Part 1. Begin training now for your eventual class. Catching up during the Promised One's story is less convenient than doing it in Part 1.

Fabio and Esmeralda

Fabio follows Diviner, Shaman, and Ovate. His strength is straightforward: high Magic and 3-range spells for damage from the rear. His weakness is equally clear. Low Speed makes approaching to cast dangerous on open maps. He works well in Part 1, but I do not prioritize keeping him once faster mages join.

Esmeralda has a foundation in Strength and Defense. Use Ornius Rider, Myrmidon, and Shido to add Speed through classes. Against Part 1's less powerful enemies, she comfortably combines tanking and damage.

Sword is a weakness, so actively train it through both combat and training. Later, obtain The Blade's Divine Insight for 10 Speed before considering Celestial Trooper for mobility. Remember Flying proficiency if you want her airborne; training swords alone is insufficient.

Mikaela and Kiroc

For Mikaela in Part 1, I favor Ranger. Going directly to Warrior can leave her slow enough to suffer follow-up attacks without enough Strength to defeat enemies in one hit, making things demanding for beginners. Ranger lets Strength and Speed contribute together before moving to Shadow Seeker or Bow Adept.

If resources allow, train Axe to S for The Eternal mastery and Divine Might. This bow path needs Strength later, and Divine Might fills that gap.

Yang Jie mainly provides ranged healing, so train White Magic to B first. Io lacks both Strength and Speed: a single weak arrow makes damage awkward. To keep using him, start with Brigand and Warrior to develop Strength.

Kiroc is already fast and does not need Hunter specifically for Speed. Use Gladiator, Brigand, and Warrior for Strength. Train swords and prepare bows for later. Develop in Warrior or Battlemaster, switching to Bow Adept when a key battle needs an archer.

Prepare axes and bows for mounted Nydine

For Nydine, I recommend Ornius Rider, Armored Ornius Rider, and Forest Knight. His personal ability relates to cavalry, so staying mounted makes use of his identity.

Use and train axes often before Forest Knight, and prepare bows early rather than discovering a shortfall when changing classes. If you also want Bow Knight later, keep improving Bow. At Axe S, obtain Divine Might for more Strength.

Crescendo builds up gradually

For low accuracy, master Archer's Crescendo through Archer. It stacks Hit through defeated enemies. Do not include the full bonus in the first arrow's expected accuracy before any stacks exist. :::

Goliath takes hits and protects allies

Goliath is one of my strongest recommendations. High Strength and HP support Armored Knight and Dreadnought for a solid Defense foundation. Later, fight as Guardian and Sentinel, dealing lance damage while using white magic to protect teammates.

His personal Defense growth is 50%, with armored classes adding more. Do not calculate it as 70% personal growth or expect Defense to rise every level.

Recruit him as early as possible and prepare three Giants' Meats. Farm them from giants in the Sand-Shadow Fort dungeon in the desert on the map’s left. Do not wait until Part 1 is nearly over to start training. After recruitment, focus on Spear toward S and White Magic toward A where possible. Strength is already plentiful; Hit needs more work. You can also train Crescendo.

This path offers more than taking hits at the front. When allies need protection, he can shield them and reduce incoming damage. Surviving himself and keeping others alive is why I rate him so highly.

Weigh development costs for later candidates

Jester is fast and can use Avoid-based counterattacks, but still needs Strength. Train axes early, add Divine Might later, and use fast classes to exploit counters.

Benditz has chariot strengths, but going straight into chariots concerns me because of low Strength. I again use Warrior and Battlemaster first, then return to chariot duties. This is a demanding development path, with Axe S requiring work. He is not immediately comfortable to use after recruitment.

Ursula likewise has good Speed and Dexterity but needs Strength. Develop Strength between battles, switching to Bow Adept or Bow Knight for key fights, similarly to Kiroc.

Gaitz's greatest drawback is joining too late. Recruit him first, then consider Sword S and Divine Insight for Speed. His potential is good; Part 1 simply leaves too little development time. These candidates also have suitable recruitment requirements on Dietrich's route, letting team development follow that route naturally.
