Split recruitment across four routes to reduce costs#

Recruiting everyone is one thing; giving everyone field time is another. Even if meals and chapter restarts build enough Support on one route, deployment slots and development resources remain limited. Spreading training across four routes leaves fewer characters permanently benched.

This plan first assigns every Part 1 recruit a route, then balances the groups where possible. When comparing routes, check Support requirements first, then joining time, using Support relationships to break close ties. Main-story progress and requests build Renown for the whole team, but Support needs targeted gifts and meals. Spend limited resources on intended recruits first. Earlier recruitment also gives you longer to use and train them.

Keep each route’s fixed companions#

Do not spend all early resources recruiting other routes’ fixed companions. Finish your planned recruits first, then add favorites if resources remain.

Tutorial recruits need not stay tied to that route either. Guzran is available very early on Cai’s route but is also easy to recruit on Leda’s, with Support relationships closer to Leda’s team, so he goes to Leda. Yang Jie is easy on both Dietrich’s and Cai’s routes; the smaller Dietrich group assigns him to Dietrich. Catania joins earliest on Leda’s route, making Leda the priority. She is also easy to obtain on Dietrich’s route, where you can see their Support. Sofia goes to Theodora, since no other route has such low requirements for her.

Compare requirements for ordinary recruits#

Alexandra needs only Support 1 on Theodora’s route versus Support 2 on Cai’s. Although her Support with Cai is more complete, minimizing investment puts her with Theodora. Benditz also goes to Theodora, mainly requiring Renown growth.

Dadao needs Support 2 and Renown 5 on both Leda’s and Theodora’s routes. His Support with Buccar assigns him to Leda. Dante has Supports with Leda and Sirocco, but recruitment there takes more effort. Dietrich requires only Support 2, so the lower threshold gives her to Dietrich. Fianna joins earlier on Leda’s route and can interact with Olympia, so she joins Leda’s group too.

Goliath needs one less Renown level on Dietrich’s route, but his two Supports with Cai and Ultand make Cai’s route worth that difference. Halvin is a materials exception: he needs Dates, harder to obtain on Cai’s route. Look elsewhere, then use his Support with Bonaventure to assign him to Theodora.

Inyoni is easy to recruit on Leda’s route and can interact with Dadao, already assigned there. Io needs Renown 6 on Leda’s route, but only Renown 3 and Support 2 for earlier recruitment on Dietrich’s, so he goes to Dietrich. Jasmine saves Support on Cai’s route but joins late. Support 2 on Leda’s route gets her earlier and gives interactions with Buccar and Olympia, so choose Leda.

Jester joins very late on the other routes, while Dietrich has a much lower Renown threshold. Kiroc is early and easy on Dietrich’s route, with Esmeralda his only Support partner. Both go to Dietrich.

Assign later recruits#

Loretta is neither early nor especially easy anywhere. Theodora and Leda are better fits; Support with Tobias gives Theodora the edge. Ludia similarly favors those two routes, with Support with Buccar assigning her to Leda. Majide joins early on Cai’s route at Support 2, while other routes are late and awkward, so choose Cai directly.

Nezha needs Renown 6 on both Cai’s and Theodora’s routes, but only Support 2 on the latter, with a Support with Theodora herself. He joins the queen’s team. Ninae has similar thresholds across routes; Supports with Cai and Peter favor Cai.

Noctula is relatively easy to recruit early on all routes except Leda’s. Give her to Dietrich to balance numbers. Nuzzuo is easy early on Theodora’s route, so assign him to Theodora. Nydine joins through progression on Cai’s route. If you particularly want her Supports with Lilian and Bonaventure, recruit her on Theodora’s instead.

Seteth cannot be recruited on Dietrich’s route. Costs are similar for Cai and Theodora, with Support with Tialla favoring Cai. Simon needs Support 3 and substantial Renown everywhere. Leda gets him slightly earlier, but not much earlier than Theodora. Supports with the queen and Lilian assign him to Theodora. Zarcone is cheapest early on Theodora’s route and joins this team too.

Paralogue dates for five characters#

Some September and October Paralogues in Part 1 must trigger in the imperial capital, Dagsion. Being out traveling on those dates can mean missing them. Gaitz is especially important: Dietrich’s route has only one trigger day, so reserve it in the schedule.

Diego needs Support 2 on Theodora’s route versus 3 elsewhere, joins earlier, and can interact with the queen and Lilian. Gaitz is exclusive to Dietrich’s route. Completing Bertrand’s Paralogue on Cai’s route leads to Peppe, who has Supports with Ultand and Ninae.

Sha Lan needs two fewer Renown levels on Dietrich’s route than on Leda’s. Choose Leda instead for her full Support with Sirocco, but the Paralogue remains required. Ursula needs Renown 7 on Dietrich’s route, versus 9 for Theodora and 10 for Cai, so assign her to Dietrich too.

Recruitment assignments across the four routes#

Theodora’s group ends up crowded. If Dietrich’s route has spare capacity, recruit a few more from that group. Ensure everyone joins on at least one route first, then adjust repeated characters to your preferences.
