Gift reference: unlock meals with a first gift, then match each character · Anna's Notebook

Use the first gift to unlock meals

If you only need to unlock meals, give a cheap first gift. To raise Support seriously, choose gifts according to the character's preferences.

The first gift is your ticket to meals; you do not need the most expensive item immediately. Saraminian Sweets cost 100G at full price in Megaira's market and have unlimited stock, making them suitable first gifts for your intended recruits. Establish those first-gift relationships, then build bonds with inn meals. Check the gift vendor in the lower-town tavern and nearby pickups along the way.

For Support gains, choose a gift they like. For fast recruitment, follow the first gift with meals; see dining and theater. You can give each character one gift per week, not repeatedly on the same day. Even with enough Support, recruitment still requires your route's Renown, story, or personal conditions.

Choose Give Gift when speaking to a character. The explanation on the right says it raises Support. Give the first gift here, then invite them at the inn.

Check the character's preferences before gifting

Price does not replace personal preference. First choose gifts the target likes, then use price to decide which one to buy.

Sofia gives two forms of feedback for a preferred gift: her spoken reaction and the “Really likes it” result. Use these to recognize gift reactions (English interface). — Sofia gives two forms of feedback for a preferred gift: her spoken reaction and the “Really likes it” result. Save money with discounts and birthdays

Before giving gifts0/8

Visit the Pale Raven perch to check Boons of Salvation. Prioritize the first 10% gift discount. If you plan to buy many gifts, this recurring discount helps more than saving on one purchase.
Give unrecruited characters a cheap first gift and confirm they appear on the inn's invitation list. For a Restart Chapter loop, give that first gift in the previous chapter if possible. Start the next chapter with meals rather than finding the character again after every restart.
Give preferred gifts to priority characters regularly. Existing observations suggest that expensive, rare gifts within a liked category often give more Support. The video provides no Support-per-gold table, so beginners need not spend all their money on costly gifts.
Check birthdays on the calendar. A gift that normally gets an ordinary reaction gets a “Really likes it” reaction on a birthday. Recruited characters trigger a birthday gift prompt; unrecruited characters do not, so find them yourself. Still plan around one gift that week. :::

Megaira's Market page: Saraminian Sweets have unlimited stock on the right, and this save shows a price of 90G. Check both current price and stock when buying first gifts.

Two ways to budget for recruitment
Meet your route's requirements week by week
Do not reach the Renown requirement only to discover that Support is still short. Schedule weekly gifts, meals, and Temple Service on your return trips. Allocate gifts to your route's recruitment targets first, then see which relationships that week's meals can improve. Plan missing money alongside materials gathered outside town. Each character has different Support requirements, so check your route's conditions before investing.
Expand the team and repay the cost through exploration
Another approach invests money in recruitment first. More recruits mean more automatic exploration, which earns money for more gifts. Build recruitment relationships in Part 1 while relying on dungeon rewards, material exchanges, and new recruits' equipment for weapons. This puts gifts and gift discounts first in the budget. This is a different investment plan from cheap first gifts followed by meal loops. It suits weekly recruitment while expanding your exploration roster, provided you already have adequate equipment. Reserve immediate healing and exam funds before buying gifts. The explanation gives no item-by-item gift efficiency and cannot establish the highest preference tier in the table above. :::
Separate first gifts from restart loops
Treating the first gift as a push for maximum affinity: a cheap gift is enough when you only want to unlock invitations.
Check the reaction to the specific gift you select. Preferences can differ within the same category.
Treating price as Support points: exact gains per item are unknown, so Support per gold cannot be calculated reliably.
Restarting casually at the end of a chapter after quests, exploration, and training: Support stays, but other gains from the chapter are lost. Run the loop at the chapter's start.
